This blog, as the title suggests, is a collection of photographs taken in Lower Normandy, France. Some are straightforward reference photos, others more "composed", where I've tried to capture a sense of the ambience of  the location, or of Normandy in general.

Hopefully these pictures will prove useful to artists, researchers, modelmakers and other such types.
Or just people interested in this particular part of the world.
For a relatively small geographical area, Basse Normandie has a surprising variety of landscapes and architectural styles using many materials.

I'll include short captions indicating locations.
For those not familiar with the French departmental numbering system, 14 is Calvados, 50 is Manche and 61 is Orne.

Where I've got quite a lot from the same place, I'll give them a seperate page.

Some of these pictures will be direct modern comparisons of older photographs, which I'll display alongside, with original source where known.

If anyone would like a picture of a specific area, please feel free to get in touch and I'll do my best to accomodate your request.

Please don't use these commercially without asking and please don't pass them off as your own. It's not nice.

Cheers,

Sean
