A while ago I took some reference photos for a friend in the village of Cambes-en-Plain, near Caen.
Although some features (eg chimney, road) are post-war, the buildings themselves look pretty much how they have since being built a few hundred years ago.
The colour and style of the stonework is very typical for the region around Caen.
